Looking for an Untappd alternative without the social part?

Same beers, none of the feed. No check-ins, no badges, no followers, no account, and an honest table of what Untappd still does better.

Side by side

The honest version. Untappd is better at several of these, and if those are the rows that matter to you, stay where you are. That's a good outcome too.

What you gain

A place to write what you actually thought, without wondering how it reads to anyone else. No streak to maintain, no badge to chase, no reason to check in at a bar you didn't enjoy.

And your own fields: if you care about can dates, dry-hop varieties or which bottle shop had it, you add them. Nothing is fixed.

What you lose

The database, and it's a real loss. In Untappd you scan a label and everything is filled in; here you type the name. The first entry for a beer is slower, always.

You also lose the social half entirely: friends, the feed, venue check-ins, the badges. If that's why you opened Untappd in the first place, this isn't the app you want, and I'd rather say so now than have you find out after installing.

FAQ

Can I import my Untappd history?

Not yet. Untappd can export your check-ins as a file, so this is a question of teaching the app to read it rather than an impossible one. For now you would be starting a fresh archive, which is worth knowing before you switch. If an import is what decides it for you, tell me.

Does Drinklytics have a beer database?

Drinklytics doesn't have one. You type the name yourself, which is slower for the first entry, and it's the main thing Untappd does better.

Will check-ins ever be added?

No. It isn't a missing feature, it's the decision the app is built around.

Can I still see what my friends are drinking?

Not here. There are no friends, no feed and no profiles of any kind.

Is it really free?

Yes: no ads, no subscription, no paid tier. I don't make money from it, which is also why I can afford to leave things out.

Do I need to create an account?

No. No email, no sign-up. The beers you save stay on your device.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet, it's on the way. Leave your email on the home page to hear about it once.
