A place to write what you actually thought, without wondering how it reads to anyone else. No streak to maintain, no badge to chase, no reason to check in at a bar you didn't enjoy.
And your own fields: if you care about can dates, dry-hop varieties or which bottle shop had it, you add them. Nothing is fixed.
The database, and it's a real loss. In Untappd you scan a label and everything is filled in; here you type the name. The first entry for a beer is slower, always.
You also lose the social half entirely: friends, the feed, venue check-ins, the badges. If that's why you opened Untappd in the first place, this isn't the app you want, and I'd rather say so now than have you find out after installing.
Yes, with one manual step. Untappd exports your check-ins as a file, and Drinklytics has a custom importer that reads CSV, XLSX and JSON: you choose which column goes into which field, and the archive comes across. What doesn't exist yet is a one-tap Untappd preset that does the mapping for you. One thing to know before you start: a check-in you never rated has no rating to carry over, and those rows get left behind. If something lands somewhere odd, write to me and I'll fix it.
Drinklytics doesn't have one. You type the name yourself, which is slower for the first entry, and it's the main thing Untappd does better.
