Keep a coffee tasting journal that isn't a spreadsheet

Origin, process, roast date, brew ratio: the fields you actually use, because you pick them. Works for tea too. Free, offline, no account.

Drinklytics used as a coffee tasting journal, showing the custom fields on a coffee entry

Features

Origin, process, roast date: the fields you actually use

Specialty coffee comes with a label full of information, and a week later you remember none of it. Add the fields that matter to you: origin, farm, variety, process, altitude, roaster, roast date.

Set them once as a template and every new bag starts with them ready.

Brew parameters, if that's your thing

Dose, ratio, grind setting, water temperature, time: all of it fits, because none of it is built in. You decide whether a cup needs three fields or twelve.

If you're dialling in an espresso, the numbers you change today are the ones you'll want to compare tomorrow.

Tea, matcha, anything you steep

The same app takes tea without pretending it's coffee: leaf, harvest, steep time, water temperature, how many infusions you got out of it.

One archive for everything you drink, which is easier than remembering which app you put it in.

Read it back

A tasting journal is only worth keeping if you can find things in it. Search across every note and every tag you invented: a process, a roaster, a flavour you keep chasing.

The statistics screen shows what you've been drinking most, which is often a surprise.

FAQ

Can I use the SCA cupping attributes?

You can build them as custom fields (fragrance, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance and the rest) and save them as a reusable template. There's no ready-made SCA preset in the app yet; it's on the list.

Does it calculate a cupping score for me?

Not today. Numeric fields hold the individual scores, but nothing sums them or subtracts defects yet. If you want the arithmetic done for you, print the cupping sheet from this site instead.

Can I record espresso shots and brew recipes?

Yes, as fields you define: dose, yield, ratio, grind, time, temperature. The app doesn't know what an espresso is, which is exactly why it doesn't get in the way.

Does it work for tea as well?

Yes. Tea, matcha, herbal infusions, each with its own template if you want one.

Does it need a connection?

No. Everything is stored on the device and works offline, which matters more than it sounds when you're in a roastery basement.

Do I need an account?

No. No sign-up, no email, no profile.

Is it free?

Yes, free and with no subscriptions.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet, it's on the way. Leave your email on the home page to hear about it once.
